One thing that helps me get into the holiday mood is baking. The warmth from the oven and the wonderful aroma of whatever it is I've decided to make can always help put a smile on my face. Tonight I had a few banana's going bad, so I decided to bake some bread. Mmmmmm...
First gather the ingredients and preheat your oven to 350.
4-5 mashed VERY ripe bananas
2 cups of All-Purpose Flour
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
1/2 cup butter
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup butterscotch chips
1st cream butter (at room temperature), brown sugar and eggs.
Next, mash the ripened bananas in their own bowl and add the creamed eggs, brown sugar and butter.
Mix creamed batter and ripened bananas well.
Add the rest of the ingredients to the batter.
Mix all ingredients together. Once mixed pour ingredients into a lightly greased 9x5 bread pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for an 1 hour 15 minutes or depending on your oven.
and finally ENJOY!!
This would also make a great gift. Whether you decide to gift the whole loaf or perhaps make combo gifts of jam, bread and butters... just slice the bread and wrap each individual slice in saran with a pretty label.
