Make it Yourself Monday - Boppy Cover

As my nesting takes full force, so does my desire to have all nursery items in order.  I have decorated the nursery in all ebony, ivory and charcoal gray.  There may be some hints of red here and there but mostly just the classic style with ebony furniture, my glider has an ivory cushion, I also put an ivory shag rug down to cushion the spanish tile in the room for my little guy to play on.
In addition to all this new stuff, I was also handed down a lot of great stuff by some great girlfriends of mine.  One handed me down a boppy that is in excellent condition but I would like to re-cover it.  Since this is something that he will probably eat with, rest on and will most likely be dragged with us on our travels, a couple covers would be ideal.  If any of you have checked these out online... they are not cheap.  I have some great fabrics that would be fun to use and only a zipper would have to be purchased.. sounds like a fun project that Grosgrain's fabulous Kathleen created what she calls a "Quick and Dirty" no pattern boppy tutorial that I am going to try!

First Kathleen suggests to gather these few materials and have your boppy insert handy...
-Find some fabric the width and length of your boppy x2.
-You'll need an 18" zipper in coordinating color of fabric.
-3 yards of ricrac or piping is optional depending how decorative you may want the cover.

Fold two pieces of fabric in half and lay them on top of each other.

Lay half of the boppy on the fold of the two fabrics and trace with a marker.
Add an inch around your tracing and cut out fabric.

Check out Grosgrain's Tutorial to get the rest of her step by step "Quick and Dirty".

ps.. how darling is her cute little baby!
