Make It Yourself Monday - Host A Planting Party

I'm almost fully done living out of boxes and now it's time for the little touches that are my favorite about moving... THE DECORATING!!  Big surprise, right.  I love the little things such as putting pictures on the walls, hanging plants and taking all the clippings from my previous yard and planting them in pots, so I may give my patios a touch of pretty green.  As excited as I am about doing this particular planting task, how much more fun would it be if done like this with friends.

When I came across this planting party idea I felt it would be a great way to have a new house warming gathering with your girlfriends while doing something productive.  Make it even more fun by sending a themed invitation that doubles as a seed envelope for your friend to bring with them. Have a place for everyone to make their own origami newspaper pots, so each pal can have a keepsake and take a their little green friend home with them.  Then you all will be able to watch your plants grow together in your own homes.

  1. Download and print the seed packet invitation.
  2. Download the instructions for to fold origami newspaper pots.
Here's just a few more of simple things you'll need to make this party a success:
Disposable tablecloth or drop cloth (depending on where you plan to do the planting)
Seeds or seedlings
Watering can
Water
Bowls
Soil
Compost (optional)
Gardening gloves (optional)
Spades
Newspaper or craft paper
Bags
