Make It Yourself Monday - Menu Tags

If you're anything like my friends and I...we can find any excuse for a party. With these parties comes great details, fun and sometimes even a theme! This is why when perusing 100 Layer Cake, Mika 78 gave a great step by step tutorial that I needed to share! This lovely unique way to display a menu with just a few of your favorite fabrics, ironing and snipping is the perfect eye catcher or favor for your guest!

Don't they look great and fun! What a wonderful splash of additional color to a simple table! It's even a great way to accent floral centerpieces at a wedding or perhaps a patterned fabric to compliment the palette.  All you need is a few simple materials.

Materials:
  1. Fabric: with patterns (make sure fabric design isn’t too busy if you plan to print your graphic on it)
  2. Simple cotton canvas fabric (if your fabric is too busy, you can use this side for your graphic)
  3. Fabric Spray Glue or Xyron Machine (with Permanent Adhesive)
  4. Scissors (I like to use picking scissors, but straight scissors will do)
  5. Ribbon/s
  6. Hole Puncher
  7. Optional: Eyelets & Eyelet Puncher
  8. Iron-on Transfer Sheets for LIGHT fabric (at your local crafts store or Staples)
  9. Dinner Napkins
10. Iron
11. Home printer

In just 14 simple steps you too can have this final product!

Your choice of fabric is ultimately the perfect intimate detail for this make it yourself project!  Make your own napkins too and attach with this wonderful ribbon idea or perhaps a button?! Aren't they adorable and creative!!

I emailed Mika for a non PDF version of her fab template...I'll comment with it when I receive a reply.
I also found this great template that could be sized down and would look amazing for this project too by Martha Stewart!
